  • How did they do it?

I just can't figure out how the two uninvited guests managed to get into the White House for the State Dinner.  Every time I have been to the White House the Secret Service / guards recognize me....say hello to me by name yet require me to present a driver's license with a pic AND check my name against a list of those authorized for entrance for the particular event.  It is not easy to get into the White House....I almost think that they knew someone on the inside.  The Secret Service and the guards are so good at protecting the White House that this one baffles me.  They are not careless...it sounds like there was a rat.

Party Crashers Met Briefly With Obama, Official Says

The controversy over state dinner crashers, Michael and Tareq Salahi, has prompted the White House to order a "full review" of the incident to find out how the Secret Service allowed such a security breach

Two uninvited Virginia socialites not only got into a White House dinner hosted by President Obama, but also met briefly with Obama, during the receiving line, an official told Fox News.

The controversy over state dinner crashers, Michael and Tareq Salahi, has prompted the White House to order a "full review" of the incident to find out how the Secret Service allowed such a security breach.

The White House said Saturday it supported the Secret Service and its employees -- but also demanded answers.

"The White House asked the United States Secret Service to do a full review and they are doing that," White House spokesman Nick Shapiro said. "The United States Secret Service said they made a mistake and they are taking action to identify exactly what happened and they will take the appropriate measures pending the results of their investigation."

The White House has insisted that the Salahis were not invited to Tuesday's dinner for Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, despite contrary claims by the couple and their lawyer.

"We have identified that a checkpoint of ours did not verify that these individuals were on the invite list," Jim Mackin, a Secret Service spokesman, told FoxNews.com. "The matter is currently being investigated."

Some guests at Tuesday's dinner have already been interviewed in connection to the investigation, said Mackin, who declined to elaborate due to the potential of criminal charges filed against the Salahis.

"At this point, we're not going to be saying much more," he said.

The Secret Service has said President Obama was never in danger at the dinner, but declined to comment on whether anyone was screened for radiological or biological weapons.

Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan issued a statement Saturday, saying his agency took responsibility for the error.

"The preliminary findings of our internal investigation have determined established protocols were not followed at an initial checkpoint, verifying that two individuals were on the guest list," Sullivan said. "Although these individuals went through magnetometers and other levels of screening, they should have been prohibited from entering the event entirely. That failing is ours."

Meanwhile, Rep. Pete King, R-N.Y., has called for a congressional hearing into the "shocking breach of security" at the White House dinner.

"As ranking member of the Homeland Security Committee, which has jurisdiction over the Secret Service, I am calling for a full investigation of how this shocking breach of security was allowed to happen and what is being done to make that it never happens again," King said in a statement released Friday.

FoxNews.com's Joshua Rhett Miller and The Associated Press contributed to this report.

I am not sure how the couple got into the White House party - but they should be given an award - wake up call to the White House. Maybe more than one in the sercuity area needs to be fired. A thank you to the couple for checking on how great the sercuity is in for the white house. Be thankful it was a USA couple that wanted to attend the party instead of someone wanting to kill the president or vice president. Wake up and Earn your pay checks Security - whom ever you are.

I still believe this was a publicity stunt by The White House or perhaps someone choosing to cause some kind of misinformation or turmoil. I believe this girl to be either a pawn or part of an Intelligence Agency... Could be friend or foe. I believe her husband is a scumbag and couldn't satisfy his would be wife in bed if he wanted too. Arab men have tiny...dongs. As for the both of them, they should be charged with Title 18 USC 1001, Trespassing and Conspiracy. Put them in prison.

There is something very " FISHY " with this story !

How many people were at this dinner party ? Maybe this is just another distraction from the Obama Adm ? Seems like there is a bigger investigation going on about these people who crashed the dinner party than there is with the Ft Hood investigation ??? We will probably never know what really happened. God bless and HELP American !

Fair enough, poxxed :) I know my original statement was a bit across the line. Thank you for calling it to my attention. I will try to do better in the future.

If they did not play the race card directly/publicly, they are complicit still, because they could've at least produced a public statement respecting the right of the people to criticize their President and his policies. ..which has been tradition since George Washington. ..instead they let it go on for months.

Many people made the racism claim, from Bill Clinton, to Carter, to talk-show hosts, to hollywood stars. It went on for months. Nothing was done to stop it. The Obama administration could've done so, had they wanted. Allowing the race card to be played on one's behalf, is effectively playing it oneself, when one has the power to stop that behavior, but chooses not to do so.

Why yes poxxed. Didn't you know the word "suspect" only exists in the southern lexicon? :) ...what I meant is that you should understand the meaning of the word in the context in which it was used, from the perspective of southern dialect. ..that there should've been no misinterpretation of the meaning of my original post, because I too am from the south. ...since "I suspect" is a common phrase down here, which is never intended to imply the proceeding statement is fact. ..thus cannot be a lie!

poxxed you said "Your accusations of Obama wanting to be a victim was unfounded " ... no they are not poxxed. This whitehouse has been using the race card and other whining complaints left and right, with no substatial facts to back up such claims. If you had the pox or something, I'm sorry for you, but using that name does suggest a desire for pity. ...as does your statement suggesting I would eat those words if I knew how you got that name. So you are really angry at God. Is that it?

I have spread no lies, poxxed. ...which is, ahem, why I used the word "suspect" in my original post. At no time did I imply that my suspicion was fact. It is a free country, poxxed. I am free to speak my mind. And there is a reason the word "suspect" is in the dictionary. Figure it out.

Well poxxed, if you live in the south, you know what the word "suspect" means. So case closed.

Supporters of Barack H. Obama, his Socialist henchmen and his policies have proven to the world that The United States of America has more ignorant people than any other nation on the continent.

We've lost almost ALL of our allies since BO weakened this Nation

US and UK 'special relationship' not so special anymore Some sharp comments by a former British ambassador to Washington during the Iraq inquiry have again cast doubt on the strength of the so-called "special relationship" between Britain and the United States. This raises the possibility that the Iraq war will be seen as a moment after which that relationship took a real downturn.

Sounds like Chavez has his facts backasswards AGAIN. We know who really wants to wipe who out!

In a meeting with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas on Friday night, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez accused Israel of aiming to "exterminate" the Palestinians. Standing beside Abbas at the presidential palace, Chavez saluted the Palestinians for what he called their "fight against the Yankee empire ... against the genocidal state of Israel, which attacks, which kills, which attempts to exterminate the Palestinian people."

barry WANTED to be on Real Housewives: DC...that explains it all

How do we know that this isn't just another "obama admin" trying to "be cool" & that they said "OK" to letting this couple in, when couple pulled the "we're on a reality TV show"? barry admin let MTV film behind the podium for one of THEIR reality shows, barry promo'd the new George Lopez show & countless other TV appearances (his NCAA picks come to mind)...so how do we know this isn't some stupid "stay in front of the cameras" stunt that came back to bite 'em?

I think the situation is an embarrassment to the Secret Service and I hope they figure out who was lax, and perhaps let them go. They can't afford stupid mistakes. We have to keep our president safe and his guests. No matter who we voted for, we want our president guarded and safe. As far as the social climbers, well I don't care so much about them, but perhaps ban them from all future contact with the administration since that is what they so crave.
