I just read the estimate for number of patients a year die from medical mistakes - 98,000! Of course it is all accidental...and done by people with good hearts and minds but mistakes nonetheless and heartbreaks for all. So my layperson's advice? If you have a family member in the hospital be an advocate for that person....be there and double check everything (eg medicine) but don't be obnoxious ... read more
