Some "tongue in cheek" fun with the media this Memorial Day Weekend

The Media Telephone Game (remember the telephone game?) One news organization - which has not seen my contract so has no idea what the terms are in it - has embarked a fanciful game of guess...and, in attempting to guess, has now relied on "anonymous sources" who likewise have not seen my contract or the terms in it. The first news organization hints that I may be leaving or replaced. It says ... read more

partners?

Who did North Korea share technology with ? One partner is Pakistan and A Q Khan. Former President General Pervez Musharaff pardoned A Q Khan in 2004 and Khan is a national hero in Pakistan. Since the pardon, Khan has said that Musharaff and the Pakistani government were up to their eyeballs in nuclear technology and nuclear arms deals with North Korea. Khan is a free man. the formulas

In Hollywood it is "boy gets girl...boy loses girl..and boy gets girl.". Have you noticed this unfortunate formula in real life: terrorists/militants push thousands or millions out of their homes...the people flee for their lives with no possessions...end up in a refugee camp...the government is caught off guard or simply not able to provide for the millions who have been displaced and suddenly ... read more

Washington Post also reports that in the refugee camps there is a "seething resentment towards" their government (that their govt has let them down this time and many times before.) One person is quoted as saying while they were being pushed out of their homes, the President of Pakistan was in the United States "enjoying himself.". Note that the Pakistani President was at the White House on ... read more

Larry King - he has interviewed EVERYBODY and knows EVERYBODY

Larry King has a new book out. Click here to go to Amazon to read more about it and to order it if you want to get it. Larry was very helpful to me when I was at CNN. He was a very generous colleague -- he gave me advice (and great advice), he taught me, and he gave me opportunity. I got to guest host for him and appear on his show Larry King ... read more

long weekends

What I particularly like about long weekends is that I get to read for hours. I am reading Buzz Aldrin's new book (another plus is that I get the galleys of books before they come out and his book is not yet out.) It was so exciting when we stepped on the moon, wasn't it? The book is inspiring and, when it does come out, you will like it. So this is a blog to provoke an answer to this ... read more
