Ready for this?

Former Senator Tom Daschle works for Alston & Bird. He is also in and out of the White House and in constant contact (per the New York Times) with the President and others about the health care reform bill. (Tune in tonight for ON THE RECORD at 10pm -- we have the reporter for the New York Times who broke this story.) Daschle refers to himself as a "resource" ("I'd like to be a resource to ... read more

BAD NEWS - now what?

First, I sure hope President Obama knows what he is doing about our economy and I sure hope he is making the right decisions for our country.  His decisions thus far are the kind that you can't just reverse...so let's sure hope he is right. And how absolutely certain is the Administration of the costs of this reform? I see giant numbers, hear terms like "deficit neutral" but what I am not hearing is how certain anyone is. Yes, we can't ... read more

did they get it right?

The economic numbers that just came out suggest we have stabilized (not gone down or up.) This is a good sign. I fear the long term implications of the debt and deficit - but I do know that people are hurting and it is good to stop the steep decline. Of course we need to see what August brings - the beginning of an upswing? I hope so. ... read more
