Here are 3 great Washington sights: Washington Monument, White House and US Capitol. I have lived in Washington DC for about 30 years and I never tire of these sights. They are as beautiful to me as the first day I saw them.
america needs to stop being the worlds police force, the worlds bank and the worlds dumping ground for illegals at the cost and burden of american tax payers. change you can belirve in--tax-tax-tax.
The sites of DC are beautiful. I have been to DC many times over my life time with and without our 4 children. We all spent 10 days in DC durning the 70ts. We were there 1 time when the Cherry blosoms were in full bloom. They are so beautiful around the reflecting pool. It looks like a beatiful mirror. I remember this like it was yesterday. My sister lives in the DC area and one day I will get back to DC.
While station in Philidelphia, I took a tour of DC and it just happened the Cherry Blossoms were in full bloom. If I remember correctly you only get to see that sight 3 days out of year. DC does have some beautiful sites. You better go see Mt. Rushmore before they carve OB's face out of the rock. (Just a little humor!) Oh I shouldn't have said that now the loons will want his face up there because of ???? Well he was thinking about doing something.
After having been away from DC for 30 years, I returned on Nov 5th at Michelle Bachmann's call. How it takes my breath away to look at the city I hold so dear to my heart. And now, how it breaks my heart to see the corruption and the tearing apart of the edicts that were issued to create our beloved country, are being torn apart daily. I'm afraid that after the nest year, we will no longer have the ability to call this city like no other, our very own. It is being taken over by evil.
Too busy, filled with blessings to stay at this bitter place. I want to offer all of the blessings of this wonderful time to those with whom I tend to agree and to those with whom I respectfully disagree (MarySacto, Sister, just to name a few). Among my blesings: sharing ideas with you. To the angry and bitter, drawn to OTR and GW and to Greta, may you have time and the will to realize how blessed you are and to reflect those blessings in your lives. There is too much good to be so bitter.
President Obama has shattered the budget record for first-year presidents -- spending nearly double what his predecessor did when he came into office and far exceeding the first-year tabs for any other U.S. president in history.
In fiscal 2009 the federal government spent $3.52 trillion -- $2.8 trillion in 2000 dollars, which sets a benchmark for comparison. That fiscal year covered the last three-and-a-half months of George W. Bush's term and the first eight-and-a-half months of Obama's.
That price tag came with a $1.4 trillion deficit, nearly $1 trillion more than last year. The overall budget was about a half-trillion more than Bush's for 2008, his final full fiscal year in office.
