A quick note of thanks to the ON THE RECORD at 10pm small staff of about 12....and the loyal viewers. OTR was 2 hours of live coverage last night (from 10pm - midnight), and as has been consistent (yes, consistent) for 8 years, ON THE RECORD at 10pm was #1 at 10pm for the two hour breaking news coverage.
It is truly remarkable how hard our staff hustles for you (remember, we are a very small group) and it is likewise remarkable how loyal the viewers are to us at such important times. You may not be so impressed with last night's viewer numbers since we have been #1 for 8 years and it thus it is usual so what's the big deal, right? But I do admire our staff and they had to quickly change gears when it became apparent that our originally planned show would have to be changed in light of breaking news. I was on the train heading back from an interview in Philly that we expected to air while the staff was scrambling to get our two hour live show ready. From time to time, I like to acknowledge what a great job our staff does.
So...a simple quick thanks to the OTR staff....and to YOU, the viewers. We feel very close to our viewers (we know them via GretaWire, show comments, emails, videos, GretaWire Forum etc.)
I hope we continue to do a good job for you.
PS - we have a SPECIAL tonight for you at 10pm. I hope you tune in.
By the way, here are the numbers from last night at 10pm in the thousands which means we had about 2.5 million households at 10pm last night. What is particularly interesting about the numbers below is that we all in cablenews did the same topic so it is not as thought we were doing different news shows last night. And what network did the viewers turn to for breaking news? Fox News Channel (by the way, I bet the White House did, too!)
...but, thanks to a very dedicated crew and yourself, Greta, the MAJORITY OF VIEWERS will ALWAYYYYYYYYYYYYYS tune in to OTR! We really appreciate hearing the NEWS! THANKS TO YOU AND TO THE OTR CREW...THE HARD WORK AND DEDICATION TO "GETTING THE NEWS AND GETTING IT RIGHT" IS OBVIOUS! (I'll just 'betcha that obama and most, if not all, his Administration watch FNC nightly.)
Greta - may I borrow Debi - I've seen some of the comments made about how great you look and after watching your interviews with Hillary and Prez Bush 1 I too have to say you looked fantastic. Deb did a great make-up job so don't forget to give her a small gift!!! Perfum is always good.

Greta, I'm often asked by people (from here) what to expect from Aussie's. Answer: Don't feed them any BS. If you're up front with them they'll treat you like one of their own. But if your not, they'll let you know very quickly. Pretty basic, but accurate.
I love it when you praise your team, Greta.... with your schedule they deserve the glory! Congratulations Greta on your ratings once again. Hmmmmmmmm I wonder.....who in the White House is commissioned to watch FNC at night????????? lol.
