Because there is a war going on here in Pakistan, the country feels like it is on total lockdown. Every few feet there is a check point. A car bomb blew up in front of a hotel (Mariott) so you can't get very close to any hotel now with a car. As close as our car did get, it was checked for a bomb....hood lifted etc.

Be careful Greta. After college, my friends and I went and toured the Orient. We were in the Philippines. Being adventurous, we went outside of Manila and stayed in a little town. In the middle of the night I heard what I thought were firecrackers, when my roommate told me it sounded like gunfire. Four military officials were shot to death right in front of our cottage! One thing I do remember...telling my mother the next day and hearing her say "Mary Martha, get home right now!" Be safe:-)
