I met Bruce Springsteen in late 1990 when I worked as a salesmen in the LGB/Lionel section of Allied Model Trains in Culver City CA. He came by at Christmastime each year to buy a few cars and sometimes locos for his Christmas tree layout. We often talked about music. I mentioned I worked in a Chicago blues club in the mid-1960's called Big John's. Paul Butterfield often played there. Bruce mentioned that he and the E Street Band often opened for Paul when they were starting out.

Thank you, Greta, for having Clarence Clemons on your show. He is one of my favorite tenor men. I played tenor sax in high school in a rhythm n'blues band. We played at bars all around Chicago's west and south sides. Sil Austin, whom Clarence mentioned, was one of my idols, along with Red Prysock and Earl Bostic. I met Red in 1980 when he was playing in his brother's band, the great singer Arthur Prysock, at Rick's Cafe Americain in Chicago. I told Red how much I loved his music in the 50's.

SHUT UP Bruce and sing!!! He is clueless and drinks the Koolaid. Oh by the way Bruce I have a question. What bank do you have all your money in???? I enjoyed his music until he got political and the same with Jackson Brown. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but when I pay to hear you sing JUST SING. I will never attend another one of Bruce or Jackson's concert and I will not buy their CD's either.

I used to really like Bruce and the E Street Band.....until they started spewing their liberal views.....they should keep their political view to themselves. Better luck picking another topic Greta.

Springstein - UGH! A HUGE UGH! They had him on on one of the Connecticut stations and I inadvertently tuned in to him while driving and hearing his screaming I almost smashed in to the car in front of me - this is how shocking he can be. Oh, deliver me!!!

I'm glad I missed this - Anything to do with Springstein I do not want to see nor hear. Sue me - I like good soothing music. I do NOT like screaming and this is springstein. Michael Buble yes - BS - BS! Come back to this planet, Greta!

I recall seeing Clarence in several music videos throughout the years.....He has a song called You're a Friend of Mine and a music video....with Daryl Hannah and Jackson Brown in it. His Cheerful personality comes through in his music as he plays his sax.

Greta, I had never heard of Clarence Clemons before. The show segment was a real treat. His story of how he got started in music was heart warming. I wish Clarence many more years of success. Thank you for sharing this with us viewers.

It looks like nobody here really cares about liberal Bruce Springsteen or his band. Better luck on your next discussion topic, Greta.

Have amazing longevity Great music spans the generations and is as good as when you first heard it. These guys and Patty scialfa and the E Street Band have turned out some great tunes over the years. Whenever I get depressed about politics and the crime stories, I turn to music. It reinvigorates me and reminds me of the great things in life.
