I am a 62 year old Florida retiree and have health insurance coverage through my former employer. My rates have gone up about $150.00 per month this year. Although it requires some "rebudgting" I am willing to make the sacrifice rather than have government intrusion into health care. I tell my kids and grandkids that I have never seen anything like this in my life and I am sickened by what's happening in our country. We are in big, big trouble. Bill Nelson has definitely lost my vote.

He has no intention of taking senior or Floridians comments on this. Too bad he is not up for reelection next year or sooner because he needs to be replaced.

I was very surprised to hear your guest Bill Nelson, my Democratic senator from Florida say that he held Town Hall in Miami where "violence" took place. It's now clear that no such meetings took place. He lied to you!
Since Bill does not feel omfortable with this bill & think he should not vote for it. I am not for giving tax breaks for pets or paying for medicines for pets out of medicare funds. Seniors really need a raise to pay the cost of increased utilities. I think health reform needs to be put on hold at least for now. HE LIES TOO! I spoke with his office today because we tried very hard to have a Town Hall here in Jacksonville this summer but he was never available to talk to us. They declined MANY requests to meet. His office just admitted to me(today)that they never had a "Town Hall'anywhere, but had a few special interest "public meetings" in South Florida. According to his office, a public meeting is for specific interest groups such as insurance, health field, etc. This is not what he implied to Greta.
It is amazing that people who think we cannot afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, and medication somehow think that we can afford to pay for doctors, hospitals, medication and a government bureaucracy to administer it.

I respect Senator Nelson as a statesman and believe he makes his decisions with best intention not re-election in mind. Unfortunately, I think he has spent too much time working within the bureaucracy trying to achieve objectives within it's limits. We both agree on the diagnosis, Health Care needs some reform. That said we differ on the best way to cure the problem. Democrats in Congress are offering a radical surgical approach and chemo that will worsen the patients health and possibly kill it. We need a new millennial approach of targeted medicine like a laser that will solve the problem without further jeopardizing the patient and put it on a path to all around wellness, not just eradicating what’s wrong.

He was the insurance commissioner of FL. You should have asked him why he allowed insurance companies to exclude preexisting conditions. If insurance companies are so bad, understand there are 50 state regulating bodies that, in most states, are fully inserted into their business. The insurance companies can't do jack without approval of the regulators.
Bill Nelson DID NOT hold ANY town halls regarding healthcare. He was hiding under his desk. I checked his website to find out when and where in Miama the so-called meeting was held, there is NO MENTION! And he even said that there was violence. What a LIAR! I emailed him and called his offices to see when he was going to hold a meeting, THERE WERE NONE PLANNED!

He will probably vote to close off debate (60 votes) then vote against the bill because all they'll need then is 50+1 votes. Voting to get the 60 votes is the same as voting for the HC bill.
