Part of the search involved looking for a basket containing the child which the father claimed, "he was afraid was no longer attached to the balloon." We also saw on CNN a photo containing a dark spot which might have been "the basket" falling from the balloon. However, the video from lift off, clearly evidences no basket. Isn't intentionally misleading authorities regarding the basket, which increased the physical area of the search, a crime and why have we not heard more on this issue?
Oh, it WAS REAL, a real stupid stunt.
Our society is saturated with this type of mentality.
If a team of rescue parachutists had attempted to bring this balloon down in a controlled manner and one of them had to pay for this rescue attempt with his or her life, this could have happened easily, would the parents have jumped up to the plate and confessed before risking these peoples lives?
The father and mother should be made to work every weekend, 12 hrs. each day for 5 years and pay for their childrens supervision from competent teachers on these weekends. Nothing less.

The kid puking twice on national television? The kid giving it away by saying "I did it for the show"? When are these news networks going to have some responsibility? These “Masters” of Health Care are trying to deny individuals the freedom to choose what doctor you can see, what medicine you can take, what hospital you can go to, and how you spend your health care dollars. They even take it a step further in the Obama Health Care Plan, determining – IF – yes, IF you can be treated. These “Masters” of Health Care are driving us to unnecessary pain, suffering, and, in some cases, death.
We can all agree that the US health care system needs drastic reform, but not at the cost of destroying the entire system. We face a defining crossroads, as we as a nation decide the face of this reform. If we really want to improve the system, reform must be based upon the bedrock of providing each person, family and business fundamental healthcare freedom.

This has been very interesting and informative, and has a good grouping of women across the political and socio-economic landscape of America.
Oh come on Greta, YOU TOO? I don't know Greta. I have been a fan of yours for years. But you are really scraping the bottom of the barrel now. Fox used to stand for something, now they are covering the same lame stories as the other networks. Can anybody even say 'balloon boy' with a straight face?

I was suspecious when I saw that thing up in the air. I wondered if that balloon would carry a 6 yr old. Maybe I thought this because I'm a senior and have lived longer than most. I thought the bottom looked like cardboard. I am suspecious because one can do anything to pictures today. This stunt has everything to do with what's bad about the internet. These parents are just looking for a fast buck and drew their children into the scheme. Shame on them!!!
