Many people say they are for tort reform -- which would severely limit medical and legal malpractice case and other negligence cases. I posted a poll the other day and was astounded at the results. Of course the poll is not scientific but it sure seems like this group - GretaWire bloggers - are not in favor of tort reform. The results below say that GretaWire bloggers believe overwhelmingly that people who make mistakes (in this example doctors or lawyers) should compensate the injured party. Incidentally, just because a doctor or lawyer makes a mistake does not mean he or she is a lousy doctor or lawyer -- it means a mistake. It is akin to driving...just because you back into another car one time does not mean that people should never trust you to drive again. You simply were negligent and you need to make whole (pay for the dent) the harmed party.
