As you know, Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska and her husband are parents of a Down Syndrome child, Trig.
Today, an anti-Palin blogger used a photo of Governor Palin with Trig, "doctored" it up and replaced Trig's head with the image of Eddie Burke, a radio personality. No child, especially a Down Syndrome child, should be the focus of a political parody.
This blogger, using the name "Celtic Diva" (Linda Kellen Biegel), has been featured in national news media and proclaims herself to be a "proud member of the Alaska Democrat Party." She is also an official blogger for the DNC. This is the link to her blogsite: http://divasblueoasis.com
Ms. Kellen Biegel, a frequent ethics complaint filer and critic of the Governor, is trying to raise funds on her web site in order to support her continued efforts
to smear and harass the Governor Palin with trumped-up ethics charges. As you can see for yourself on her website, she has a photograph of Governor Palin holding Trig: his head removed and replaced with an image of an Alaska radio personality. Kellen Biegel blithely states on her web site that she is not making fun of Trig; she's just ridiculing Eddie Burke, the radio personality.
While no one wants to curtail Ms. Kellen Biegel's freedom of speech (or draw more national attention to this venal woman), using the image of a disabled child to attack Sarah Palin through her son is deplorable. I urge you to denounce Ms. Kellen Biegel's actions and motives -- if only for Trig's sake.
