Subject: Urgent: Franken win - Rs say no certificate, no senator
Just noting -- MN law says the legal process has to play out before Franken's a senator. Coleman has said he will no doubt challenge the expected ruling of the Canvassing Brd in Franken's favor.
Sen GOP, led by their incoming campgn chairman, Sen Cornyn, have said Franken won't get an official certificate of election until the legal process plays out (recorded conf call in DC this past week).
Much like Burris -- if Franken has no certificate, he doesn't become a senator.
Important to note -- Minnesota Gov is Republican - and I'm imagining he won't prematurely sign a certificate.
